Stock indices in the United States rose at the end of today’s session; The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.01%.

Stocks in the United States closed higher at the end of trading on Thursday, as indexes were led to the upside, and gains were recorded in the technology, public and financial institutions sectors.

At the end of trading in New York, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 0.01%, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index rose by 0.36% and the Nasdaq index climbed by 0.76%.

Among the leading stocks today in the Dow Jones Industrial Average was Microsoft Group (NASDAQ:MSFT), which rose by 2.55%, or 7.26 points, and closed at 291.60. Meanwhile, Wal-Mart Stores Inc (NYSE:WMT) added 0.76% or 1.13 points to end at 150.80, while United Health Group Inc (NYSE:UNH) added 0.70% or 3.58 points to 512.81 in late trade.

As for the worst performer at the end of the day’s trading, Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:CAT) closed down by 2.04%, or 4.36 points, to trade at 209.17 at the close. Salesforce Inc (NYSE:CRM) declined 1.41%, or 2.76 points, to end at 192.55, and American Express Company (NYSE:AXP) closed down 1.40%, or 2.25 points, to 158.83.

On the other hand, the best performance in the Standard & Poor’s 500 index was recorded by Catalent Inc (NYSE: CTLT), which rose by 5.40% at a price of 64.95. First Republic Bank (NYSE: FRC) also continued its rise by 4.39%. It closed at 14.03 levels, and Signature Bank (OTC:SBNY) stock rose by 4.28% and ended its trading at a price of 0.17.

Among the stocks that underperformed today, we mention SVB Financial Gro Company (OTC:SIVBQ), which fell by 12.09%, and closed its session at a price of 0.80, and The Mosaic Company (NYSE:MOS), which lost 5.66%, at a price of 43.67, and a share of FMC Corp (NYSE:FMC), which weakened by 4.07% and closed at 116.92 on the stock exchange.

On the other hand, the best performance in the Nasdaq index was recorded by GlucoTrack Inc (NASDAQ: GCTK), which rose by 221.71% at a price of 1.19. Liquid Media Group Ltd (NASDAQ: YVR) also continued its rise at 87.42% and closed at Levels of 0.26, as well as the stock of Better Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: BTTX) rose about 35.59% and ended its trading at a price of 1.22.

Among the stocks that underperformed today, we mention the share of Joel Global Limited (NASDAQ:JWEL), which fell by 28.40% and closed its session at a price of 0.30, Apollomics Inc (NASDAQ:APLM), which lost 25.26%, at a price of 12.19, and MDJM share. Ltd (NASDAQ:MDJH), which weakened by 18.78% and closed at 1.47 for the day’s session on the stock exchange.

The number of gainers exceeded the number of shares that closed lower in trading on the New York Stock Exchange with 1583 compared to 1353, while 128 remained unchanged. As for the Nasdaq stock exchange, 2073 of the stocks strengthened their position and 1556 retreated, while 175 of the stocks maintained their value.

The 500 volatility index, which measures the implied standard deviation of options on the S&P 500 index, traded 3.56% lower and closed at 18.40 by hitting a record high in a month.

Gold futures for June delivery fell 0.63%, or 12.90%, and closed at $2,022.70 an ounce. As for the trading of other commodities, WTI crude oil futures for May delivery fell 0.21%, or 0.17, and reached a price of $80.44 per barrel, while the June contract for Brent oil contracts decreased by 0.15%, or 0.13 points, and closed at $84.86 per barrel.

The EUR/USD pair maintained its stability by 0.17%, and traded at 1.09 levels, while the USD/JPY pair continued its rise by 0.38%, reaching 131.82 levels.

Dollar index futures traded up by 0.04%, at 101.58.
